Aleaf Farm: A Journey to Healthier Living

We are Ashika and Wasim, and Aleaf Farm is our small step towards a healthier and more meaningful way of living. The farm is located in Ulundurpet, on land that has been in our family for years.

A while ago, we were caught up in busy routines like most people. At some point, we paused and started thinking about our lifestyle – especially the food we eat. We wanted to make a change, something that would help us live better and healthier. That thought led us to travel, learn, and understand more about food and natural farming.

About two and a half years ago, we started very small, with just 30 cents of land. Today, we are regeneratively farming on about five acres. We began by growing our own food for ourselves, focusing on heirloom and open-pollinated varieties. As we learned more, we were surprised by the variety that exists – different colors, tastes, and nutrition that we rarely see in the market.

This made us realize how limited our food choices have become, where most things are grown for shelf life and appearance rather than taste or nutrition. At the farm, we wanted to do things differently. We started growing a wide range of crops, slowly adding more diversity each season.

Today, we grow many varieties of vegetables, along with rhizomes and tubers. We have also collected over a 100 varieties of bananas and are growing more than a hundred types of tropical fruit trees.

What started as something just for us slowly grew into something we could share. We began by giving our surplus to friends and family, and now we share it with others who are interested in naturally grown, diverse food.

Our aim is simple. We want Aleaf Farm to be a place where people can come and see, feel, and experience the abundance that nature offers. A place where they can understand the difference between what we usually get in the market and what is actually possible.

For us, this is still a learning journey. Aleaf Farm is not just about growing food – it’s about reconnecting with it.
